The first lady Laura Bush unveiled today the George W. Bush State China Service at the White House in the Old Family Dining Room. Laura Bush showed off a new gold-rimmed set of the White House China / Bush White House China. The family have less than two weeks (January 20, 2009 to be exact) to use it since they will be leaving the White House after that and move on to Texas.

The George W. Bush State China or the new White House China tagged $493,000 was for the 320 14-piece place settings. It was paid by a private funded trust. A second formal set of the White House China was purchased for use at family dinners and smaller events.

Will the new White House China be used for President’s Bush’s lunch with Obama and other former presidents Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter?
