Eartha Kitt (best known for Santa Baby song) dies on Christmas Day, December 25, 2008. Eartha Kitt, 81, died of colon cancer. Her daughter Kitt Shapiro was by her side. She was also known for her role as Catwoman in the 1960s TV series Batman.
Kitt’s hit songs aside from Santa Baby were ‘C’est Si Bon‘, ‘Let’s Do It‘, ‘Just an Old Fashioned Girl‘, ‘Monotonous‘, ‘Je cherche un homme‘, ‘Love for Sale‘, ‘I’d Rather Be Burned as a Witch‘, ‘Uska Dara‘, ‘Mink, Schmink‘, ‘Under the Bridges of Paris‘. She was also honored in 1960 with a star in Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Eartha Kitt is a performer till the very end, having taped a PBS special six weeks ago (set to air on February 2009).
