I’ve been seeing most of my friends in Facebook have changed their profile pictures into cartoon characters. They’ve changed it with characters from their childhood and I’m sure, you as well are seeing this or may have already changed your profile picture.

For those who doesn’t know yet, there’s a viral campaign to change Facebook profile pictures into the characters from one’s childhood as campaign against violence for kids. Here’s the exact message:

“Change your facebook profile picture to a cartoon character from your childhood and invite your friends to do the same. Until Monday, Dec 6th of 2010, there should be no human faces on facebook, but an invasion of memories! This is for a campaign against violence on children.”

I’m not sure whoever started this viral campaign but it sure is working. I’ve been seeing different profile pictures like Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony, Care Bears and other cartoon character from the 80s from my friends aged 30 and above. For my friends aged 30 and below, they are using Naruto, Charlotte, Dragon Ball and other Japanese anime characters. The cartoon characters also depicts the age of the person.
